Sound Bath in Petersfield

Friday Wind Down in Petersfield

A monthly evening sound bath on Dragon Street, in the centre of town.

It’s Friday, the week is still running laps in your head: the emails you didn’t answer, the thing someone said on Tuesday. My monthly group sound bath sessions in Petersfield offer a restorative experience in a small group environment. You lie down, pull a blanket over you, and for the next hour nobody needs anything from you.

As the sounds of crystal and Tibetan bowls wash over and around you, brainwaves slow, muscles soften, and the body shifts into a restorative state — similar to deep meditation or the moments just before sleep.

Benefits may include:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Improved sleep

  • Emotional release

  • Mental clarity

  • A sense of inner calm and grounding

Upcoming dates

What to bring

A yoga mat, a blanket (your body cools down as you relax), a pillow, an eye mask if you like one, and water. Wear something comfortable.

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early, because the door closes once we begin.

Who would benefit from a sound bath?

Anyone who could do with an hour of proper rest. You don’t need any meditation experience or spiritual beliefs.

If lying down isn’t comfortable, you can sit in a comfy chair. Some people drift off, some people’s minds wander the whole time, and both are completely normal.

What happens in a sound bath?

The session lasts an hour, and about 45 minutes of that is sound. I start with a short settling-in practice, then slowly build the soundscape with crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls and chimes. At the end I gently bring you back. There’s nothing to do except lie there.

Petersfield sound bath FAQs

  • If this my first sound bath will I know what to do? Most people at Friday Wind Down are fairly new to it. You lie down on a mat and I do the rest. I always introduce each session so you know what will happen.

  • Can I come on my own? Yes, absolutely. With only six in the room, it never feels like a crowd.

  • Is the venue accessible? Yes there is step free access to the venue.

  • What if I fall asleep? Lots of people do. It usually means you needed it.
